Steve TeSelle, Affordable Housing

Today we kicked off our lunch & learn series for Spring 2021 with Steve Teselle talking about affordable housing. Steve has been working with Security Properties for over 13 years and has focused on Affordable Housing for over 5 years.

During his presentation Steve not only shared his passion for this topic, but shared a carefully prepared presentation. His presentation covered topics including “What is affordable housing?” “Differences between affordable housing and market rate housing.” “Low Income Housing Tax Credits.” “How Low-Income Housing Tax Credit deals work, and how they’re structured?” “Current affordable housing challenges.” Steve also gave us a look at the capital stack for an actual deal they did in Portland to help us understand the finance structure of an affordable housing project.

A lot of participants were amazed by the condensed information they learned from an hour L&L session. Steve extracted important ideas and thoughts he had on AH. We also had great a conversation during the Q&A session. It was truly inspiring for us who are at the beginning of our career in AH or are just interested in the topic!
